To Eat, Or Not To Eat...

Well, I'm back. But then again, this is my blog. So it would make sense that I would be back. The question is, "Why are YOU back?" I'll tell you why. Because you are riveted at the thought of my next...thought. Brace yourselves...

Recently my sister said that she thought hot chicks on TV are causing more girls to become bulimic or anorexic(SP?).

To that I say POPPYCOCK! Kind of.

When I'm watching TV and I see that damn Bow Flex commercial come on, I do exactly what every other normal adult male does. I think "Yeah, I'm gonna get one of those and get ripped, then I'll get all the girls." When the next commercial is over I'm thinking "Yeah, I'll get a bunch of double cheeseburgers, then I'll get all the girls." You know what? I don't know anyone who bought the bow flex. I definitely don't know of anyone who has all the girls, except for Heidi Fleiss. She's got most of them.

Walk with me a moment to another dimension... A dimension where TV stars think it's hot to smear jello all over themselves. Does that mean women all over the world would smear jello on themselves to be hot? I don't think so. Although, that would be awesome. But seriously, common sense has to take over at some point.

When do we stop pointing the finger at others and take a look in the mirror for the source of the problem? With anything in life, at some point, we are expected to be able to discern good from bad.

Throwing up? Bad. Doing it 3 times a day? Really bad. Doing it because the TV told you to? Priceless.

Use your brains people. If you want to be gain/lose weight, try regular exercise. Maybe eat healthy? Either way, do it for yourselves, and do it right.

The TV doesn't tell us what to do. Besides, if the TV told us what to do, what would women do all day long?

Alright, I'm done.

Nice one. Now you are really starting to make me feel bad. I know you probably haven't bothered to look at my blog lately, but I haven't been putting out those random thoughts from my head like you have. I have been putting up random stuff I found online instead. I don't know if this is good or bad, just an observation. I guess I can feel some solace in the fact that I do add my two cents to just about every post so there is some random thought going in.

Back to your post though.
I completely agree that celebrities are not/should not be role models. If you hadn't noticed, they seem to have plenty of problems, just like everyone else. We should allow them to entertain and amuse us, not to influence or direct our behavior. That responsibility should be left to our true role models, our parents, our mentors, those we truly look up to. I don't know if I have considered getting all the girls, but I have definitely wanted to get a bow flex so I could get ripped. I do know someone who has a bow flex and I have used it on a few occasions. They seem to be pretty good machines and if I had the space, money and time to facilitate it's use I would certainly consider it an option. That would be a great way to get regular exercise without going to the gym. Obviously a healthier diet would be helpful as well. I could use some work on both of those fronts myself. Oh no, your rambling is contagious.

I have started a piece on my blog about how women in our society have impossible expectations placed on them. I should probably finish that second post up that I promised to do a week or more ago. Thanks for the impetus and another good read. Keep up the good work.
